The collecting New Year Starts with a big bang on February 22nd 2009 at Abbingdon Auctions glorious “Million Little Pieces” auction of dolls, bears and collectables at Glen Eira Town Hall, Hawthorn Road, Caulfield, Victoria. Arrive early for beautiful live preview music by "Blue Seventeen" with the sweet sweet violin sound featuring Queyen. Dolls to get excited about are a boxed companion 84cm (33") Jumeau 1907 French bisque antique will sell with a price estimate of $4,500 to $5,500. Extremely stunning German bisque 50cm Kammer & Reinhardt 117A "Mein Leibling" with desirable oily bisque complexion, she is a doll for connoisseur's to start the New Year on high excitement at low estimate of $5,500. Bear collectors will be very entranced by the early 1920s tipped mohair Fideston bear. White mohair Steiff with underscored original pewter button, will be a prize for astute collector's as will the cinnamon 33cm c1910s Steiff. Seldom seen big 64cm chunky 1910-20s German Bing bear in very good condition that will give avid collector's a reason to live with a low estimate of $5,000.

Some large companion dolls include the 86cm Kley & Hahn, 89cm JD Kestner and 84cm Simon & Halbig 1078 and 84cm Heinrich Handwerck 99 dolls. A big Pedigree doll collection including scarce bendable knee and black beauties and early Kathe Kruse dolls will sell with Bodies #1 & #1H it should be noted the earlier doll with wide #1 hips also has a photo of the owner in 1937 at a concert with Hitler in the balcony that will sell with the doll. Collectables include an Elvis Presley memorabilia collection. Boxed 1957-63 rare sized 19" Shirley Temple doll in all original scarce outfit with rarest rectangular vinyl purse. Superb brown cane weave 1930s Shirley Temple authorised doll buggy with provenance and a low estimate of $1,000. Rarely seen 1880s Twin Baby pram with estimate of $1,200 - $1,800 and other doll prams from 1920 to 1940s with low estimates from $70. Large sized beautiful Gebruder Heubach incised 27cm (10.5") Piano Baby. Three desirable 1972 Blythe Kenner dolls to sell on February 22nd are a side part redhead, blonde and mushroom brown haired beauties.
