Bisque J.D. Kestner 118 for unknown company 24″ (61cm), shoulderhead incised 30//118// T 7 B. Back U-shaped reglue from back pate rim to above ear and, also reglue on shoulder plate rim. Brown glass sleep eyes, angled lashes, gloss lush feathered brows. Open mouth with peak accents, upper teeth, prominent ears. Brown curl replaced wig/pate. Kid leather body rivet jointed body has some tape joint covering, gusset elbows with some leakage, modeled bisque forearms. This doll travelled from Melbourne to Bendigo on a dray in 1908, as a Xmas present for a child and the Mother knitted her blue outfit.
