Exquisite French Mothereau Bebe c1882 in Grand Exhibition size 33″ (68cm), incised “B. M” on her neck. Pressed bisque socket head, divine blue glass paperweight inset eyes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, very long arched brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners and shaded nostrils, encircled dark eyeliner, and angled lashes. Closed mouth with generous defined white space between the shaded lips with darker red accents and inner outline. Defined molding with softer pink cheeks, dimpled chin, defined philtrum, pierced ears. The blonde mohair wig has long extensions over a cork pate. French composition fully jointed original repainted body with some body fill at joints, and straight wrists with long fingers. An exquisite French Bebe that is rarely seen as few examples exist in this Exhibition size. Displays an exceptional quality of sculpting with defined character sculpting, choicest bisque, and elite feature painting. Antique pink silk dropped waist walking out ensemble with inserted lace, elaborate ivory ruffled bonnet, antique undergarments, Bebe gold brooch, necklaces, and white socks. Original to the doll are French weary “Mon Guyot ‘A. LA Tentation Passage Vendome Paris” kid leather brown shoes.
